Episode three of The Paper’s mini-documentary looks at Chinese companies’ diversifying methods of innovation.

“China’s Lab,” a new video mini-series produced by Sixth Tone’s sister publication The Paper, takes a closer look at the people, companies, and research institutions in China that are driving forward progress in the fields of science and technology.
The third episode of the four-part documentary examines the ways in which leading Chinese companies and China-based R&D centers of global companies are reinventing their organizational structures, in a bid to provoke innovation. From the seven-part “ecosystem” of LeTV Holding Co. Ltd.’s multi-pronged business model, to the “coral reef” structure of Intel China Ltd.’s R&D operation, tech innovation in China is occurring in increasingly diverse environments.
